Microsoft’s betting big on Windows 10 and the company wants to bring as many people as possible on the new operating system in the shortest time, and this is one of the reasons why it’s becoming so aggressive in the consumer business.

But at the same time, Redmond is also working with partners across the world to bring Windows 10 on enterprise computers and to encourage various organizations to adopt the new operating system too.

HP, which is a long-time Microsoft partner, announced a new joint program called “Reinvent the Classroom,” whose main purpose is to provide students and teachers with access to new products developed by the two companies and running Windows 10.

Giving everyone the chance to try out Windows 10

As part of the program, Microsoft and HP will create what are being called “Learning Studios” in approximately 60 schools across the world and offer students and teachers the chance to benefit from solutions such as Office 365, Windows 10, and Skype.

"With Microsoft, we are delivering exciting new devices and solutions that help schools and students rethink the possibilities around learning, creating a vision for the Classroom of the Future," said Alex Cho, vice president of Commercial PCs, Personal Systems, HP Inc. "This vision is manifested through HP and Microsoft's Reinvent the Classroom program, showcasing how innovation can create more immersive learning environments."

As far as consumers are concerned, Windows 10 is available as a free upgrade for those running Windows 7 or 8.1 on their computers, but the offer is valid only until July 29, 2016. This means that if you upgrade to Windows 10 by this date, you are free to use the operating system for the entire lifetime of your device, without having to pay a single cent.

Businesses and enterprises who want to upgrade to Windows 10 still have to pay for a license though.
