14 DAY TRIAL // Good news for Windows Phone fans who favor T-Mobile over other US-based carriers, as the network operator is said to add a very interesting smartphone to its portfolio.
The Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL is an unannounced smartphone that will ship with Windows 10 Mobile right out of the box.
We have already reported to you about the handset's specs sheet, though we couldn't tell you if and when it would be available in the United States.
Even though the Chinese company has yet to confirm the existence of the smartphone, Steve Cistulli, Alcatel OneTouch’s senior vice president for North America, has told CNET in an interview that his company will launch a device running Windows 10 Mobile by the end of the year.
He has also pointed out that Alcatel is very supportive of Windows ecosystem, which means the Chinese handset maker is likely to continue to launch Windows 10 Mobile smartphones in the not-so-distant future.
Since we already know that the smartphone confirmed by Alcatel to come on the market by the end of the year is the OneTouch Fierce XL, the only thing that remains to be clarified is which carriers in the US will offer it and for how much.
The smartphone might go on sale at other US operators, too
Well, according to @evleaks, one of the carriers that will add the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL to its portfolio is T-Mobile USA.
Moving on to specs, we already know the OneTouch Fierce XL should pack a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.
In addition, the phablet should be powered by a 1.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.
The smartphone should offer LTE and HD Voice support. It will pack an 8-megapixel camera on the back with autofocus, LED flash, and video recording, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front.
Last but not least, Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL will come preloaded with Windows 10 Mobile right out of the box, and it will be powered by a 2,500mAh battery.
