14 DAY TRIAL // Alcatel is working on the successor to the Flash 2, released in September last year. Specs of the upcoming Flash 3 have been released in a GFXBench test, and it looks like the smartphone will come with a deca-core CPU and some other decent features.
The GFXBench test reveals that the Alcatel Flash 3 is set to sport a 4.6-inch display that supports 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. It should also have MediaTek Helio X20 MT6797 SoC, with deca-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz and coupled with Mali-T880 graphics processing unit.
Other than that, the Alcatel Flash 3 should provide 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage. The rear camera should reach 13MP, the same as on the Flash 2. Front camera capacity may reach 8MP, more compared to the Flash 2’s 5MP.
The benchmark test also shows that the rear camera will come with autofocus, face detection, and touch focus. In addition, the front camera will be capable of capturing Ultra HD videos.
Alcatel Flash 3 should run Android Marshmallow 6.0.1
The smartphone might have Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box and should feature Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, among other things. The release date is not known, nor are pricing details.
By comparison, the Alcatel Flash 2 came with a larger display of 5 inches, but pixel resolution was limited to just 720 x 1280. It had just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, with the option to add up to 128GB using a microSD card. Battery capacity reached 3000mAh. The Flash Plus 2 was an upgraded version with more RAM and a larger screen of 5.5 inches.
The powerful processor might not be a good match for the rather small display, considering that many manufacturers are releasing smartphones with screens that surpass 5.0 inches. Still, the Alcatel Flash 3 could be a good alternative for power users who are more interested in a phone’s processing capacity than a large display.
