This week, week 7 of Operation Ababil 2, Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters haven’t stopped after taking down the public website of 10 US banks. Instead, according to Hilf-ol-Fozoul, they've continued the attacks and added 14 new financial institutions to their target list.

The list of organizations that haven’t been attacked until now includes Synovus Bank, Bank of the West, Union Bank, Umpqua Bank, University Federal Credit Union, UMB Bank, People's United Bank, Patelco Credit Union, M&T Bank, First Citizens Bank, Citizens Bank, Key Bank, BBVA Compass, and Comerica.

Currently, most of the sites appear to be back on track, except for the ones of Key Bank, Comerica and Union Bank.

As I mentioned on Thursday, it’s likely that the newly targeted financial institutions have been caught off guard, which is why their websites became inaccessible in no time after the attacks against them began.

Last week, Operation Ababil appeared to be fading away, since only 3 banks were attacked. However, now it appears that the hacktivists are determined to keep launching the attacks for more than a year from now if the Innocence of Muslims movie is not removed from YouTube.
