The popular strategy game for Windows Phone devices, Age of Empires: Castle Siege, has just received another major update that brings a few new features, along with many improvements and bug fixes.

Fans will be pleased to know that developers announced a brand-new tournament would be available to Age of Empires: Castle Siege players in the form of Leagues.

Leagues will divide players and alliances into smaller groups to compete against each other for in-game prizes. Aside from that, players will be able to easily compare their performance to other players without having to be in the top 200.

According to developers, at the end of the tournament season, there will be many rewards given out to top players and alliances in each league.

Another new feature included in the update is the Wonder Boost grace period, which is a 3-day waiting period before activating Wonder Boosts if players are new to an alliance.

As mentioned earlier, some gameplay improvements have been announced as well, such as enhanced connection logic when enemy players are previewing your castle for a potential attack. With the latest update, players will have priority to their own empires and have improved access to the game.

Bigger in-game buttons, new sub-menu

Developers also added the option for larger in-game buttons on all mobile platforms. Naturally, players will be able to change the size of in-game controls themselves.

There's also a new sub-menu for “Country and Region Flags” under Honor Items to further organize the marketplace.

Age of Empires: Castle Siege developers delivered some bug fixes as well. For example, a bug where some players were getting connection errors when purchasing or collecting gold has been addressed.

Another issue where the brace the walls boost was not updating the total health of the wall has been fixed, so the game will now include the boost in calculations.

The problem where notifications would randomly appear for some players should be fixed as well, along with the bug where players would occasionally be disconnected during alliance chat.

You can now download Age of Empires: Castle Siege for Windows Phone for free via Windows Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1 and up.
