The announcement will be made by the end of June

A new Call of Duty is going to be announced by Activision in a couple of months, signaling that the publisher is finally ready to reveal what Infinity Ward has been working on.

The Call of Duty franchise has been around for a long time, and it provided both incredible games and some flops along the way. Studios formed and teams broke up, so much so that it’s difficult to know if there are still people around from the start.

In any case, each new Call of Duty announcement is bound to make some waves, especially since the FPS genre has been lacking a powerful entry, with a solid multiplayer component. It remains to be seen what Activision will choose to do, but we can only hope that they won’t make the same mistake they did with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, not to include a single player campaign.

Money is in multiplayer

Unfortunately for people that want to play a single player campaign, multiplayer games make money even after players bought the game. The latest information doesn’t mention anything about this aspect, and we only have to wait until the end of June.

During the latest of Activision’s conference call with investors, it was revealed that Infinity Ward’s new game would be unveiled before June 30th. That date is not chosen randomly because it’s actually the end of Q3 for companies. Which means that it could very well be announced before that date.

Activision probably thinks that people want to get their information from conference calls with shareholders. That’s why they also revealed that the new Call of Duty would have a new campaign (possibly single player), an expansive multiplayer world, and co-op gameplay.

The fact that it’s probably Modern Warfare title is just a rumor, but it’s been popping up with some consistency, not to mention that it would be the right time for it.
