14 DAY TRIAL // Acer used this year’s CES in Las Vegas to take the wraps off the updated Swift 7 ultrabook, this time with significant improvements in almost every single area, including design and hardware.
Let’s start with the best thing about the laptop: Acer says the new Swift 7 is the “world’s thinnest laptop” as it is only 8.98mm thin. The device is dressed to impress and uses a unibody aluminum chassis, coupled with all kinds of features that score points in both productivity and looks, such as a backlit keyboard.
The 14-inch Full HD IPS display (a welcome upgrade from the previous generation’s 13.3-inch screen) uses Acer’s Color Intelligence tech to enhance clarity in every angle, and the touchscreen has been optimized for extra responsiveness.
Acer equipped with the laptop with the 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage, while also offering various extras like Intel XMM 4G LTE connectivity, a fingerprint reader for Windows Hello support, and long battery life that reaches 10 hours per charge – though in real life expect less than that.
The Acer Swift 7 will go on sale in North America in March with prices starting at $1,699 and in EMA in April from 1,699 EUR.
Refreshed Acer Spin 3
Additionally, Acer also unveiled the refreshed Spin 3 laptop (SP314-51) which comes with a 14-inch Full HD IPS display (down from 15.6-inch), 8th Gen Intel Core processors and up to 12 hours of life, at least on paper.
The star of the show is the 360-degree dual-torque hinge that enables several form factors, including laptop, tablet, and even tent mode. The rest of the tech specs will be unveiled at a later time, most likely when the device becomes available for customers across the world.
The Spin 3 will hit the shelves next month in North America from $599, while customers in the EMEA region can get it as soon as this month starting at 649 EUR.
