The sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence finally has a release date. After teasing the announcement for couple of days, developer Asobo Studio and publisher Focus Entertainment have just confirmed that A Plague Tale: Requiem is scheduled to release on October 18.

As many of you probably know by now since it’s been confirmed during Microsoft’s Xbox & Bethesda live show, A Plague Tale: Requiem will be available day one with Xbox Game Pass for console, PC and cloud.

Apart from that, players will be able to pick the game up on PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S starting today. Along with the launch date, the fine folks at Asobo Studio have also released an extended 10-minute gameplay trailer that follows Amicia and Hugo as they make their way through a huge ochre-red quarry overwhelmed with soldiers who badly want to capture them.

Luckily, both Amicia and Hugo have new tricks up their sleeves, which will make their opponents’ live even more miserable. Unlike the companions formed by the protagonists in the first game, Requiem introduces new characters, adults with more confidence and experience, who are more likely to guide our duo through their personal struggles.

Set in a new part of France, Provence, Requiem will offer new sights and sensations, leading the protagonists to believe in a paradise. Sadly, the harsh realities of the medieval times will catch up with them.

Overall, A Plague Tale: Requiem seems much more action-oriented than the previous title in the series. Although the game will retain its linear design, there will probably be a healthy amount of choices that you’ll have to make, each having direct impact upon the outcome of the story. Hopefully, this one won’t be delayed like so many other highly anticipated titles such as Starfield, Redfall, Stalker 2, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and Forspoken.
