New-generation Surface Go passes FCC certification

It’s not a secret that Microsoft is already working on a new-generation Surface Go, but according to a recent discovery, there’s a good chance the device will launch rather sooner than later.

This obviously isn’t the best moment to launch a new device, but Microsoft seems to be ready to take the wraps of the second-generation Surface Go, if a recent FCC certification is anything to go by.

Surface Go 2 passing through the FCC is an indication that the device is ready for prime time, although just as expected, Microsoft has remained completely tight-lipped on everything related to this new model.

Microsoft Surface Go 2

Microsoft Surface Go is the company’s smallest and cheapest Surface model to date, and the new generation won’t change that in any way.

More specifically, the Surface Go 2 will mostly feature improvements under the hood, so what we should expect are hardware upgrades and little tweaks in terms of looks.

This makes sense after all, as the Surface Go 2 must remain a small and super-portable PC, so sticking with the original approach is the right way to go.

The Surface Go 2 is likely to retain the pricing of its predecessor as well, so the cheapest configuration should start at less than $400. For the time being, no confirmed information exists on the hardware upgrades coming to the Surface Go 2, but some say that a more powerful model could feature an Intel Core m3 chip part of the Amber Lake generation.

Whether or not this is true is something that we’ll probably find out in just a few weeks, as the debut of the Surface Go 2 is likely just around the corner. More Surface models could also be prepared, including a Surface Book 3, but for now, the new Go is the model that’s all but confirmed for a spring 2020 launch.
