Computers definitely can be said to come in almost all shapes and sizes now that Eurotech got serious and unleashed the Zypad WL1500 series of so-called wearable computers, optimized for mobility and connectivity.

Today's IT market can probably be said to have evolved well beyond what the first makers of a processors dreamed of, or at least got to this stage faster than one might have expected before Moore's Law was defined.

Either way, with the refinements in touch input technologies, 3D, solid state storage and, one might say, every other facet of computing, such things as tablets, all-in-one monitors and better than ever PCs and enterprise systems have been built.

Now, Eurotech comes to complete the picture, or at least contribute to its completion, by delivering the Zypad WL1500 series of wearable computers.

As their name says, they are built small but sturdy and should serve those involved in medical environments, law enforcement, maintenance, emergency search and rescue, etc.

It runs on a Marvell processor and has a 3.5-inch TFT LCD display with a 320 x 240 pixel resolution and resistive touch input, plus an ambient light sensor that adjust the backlight.

Also, the product has a SIM card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, CDMA, 3G, GPRS and GPS, plus a microSD card slot, 128 MB SDRAM, a 12-key keyboard and a battery life of eight hours.

"Eurotech's newest Zypad wearable computer delivers the great look and feel of the Zypad family with extensive communications and I/O capabilities," says Pete Dombrowski, Director of Engineering at Eurotech Inc. \

"The cloud-ready Zypad WL1500 can be deployed in M2M applications where hands-free operations, reliable communications and high computing performance are required. With Eurotech's Zypad WL1500 wearable computer, individual users have instant access to data in the field and corporations can simultaneously access that vital information through the cloud in real-time."
