Zotac, one of NVIDIA's leading video board partners, has just announced the launch of its new desktop computer system, specifically designed to take advantage of the performances and features that have been integrated into NVIDIA's Ion platform. The new series of desktop computer systems, dubbed Zotac MAG, will be available with either a dual-core Atom 330 processor or a lower-power, single-core Atom 230 CPU. According to the company, the new series can be installed in a number of ways and provides the end-users with the flexibility of choosing their own operating system, ranging from Microsoft's Windows XP to various versions of Linux.

“As users start equipping every room in their house with computers for a true networked digital home experience, space and power conservation becomes an issue, especially for larger houses,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International. “With the ZOTAC MAG series, we’re providing users with a system suitable anywhere inside a house. The compact size, performance and energy efficiency makes the ZOTAC MAG perfect for all computing uses. We evaluated the market demands for miniature PC systems and every user has different operating system preferences for their digital home connected PCs. By letting the end user select the operating system they want to load, they’re in control of making it the perfect digital home connected system for their preferences,” Mr. Berger added.

The MAG HD-ND01 comes equipped with a dual-core Atom 330 processor, while the MAG HD-NS01 is powered by a single-core Atom 230 CPU. Aside from that, the two systems are pretty much the same. They are built on NVIDIA's ION chipset platform and can be featured with 2GB of RAM, a 160GB 5400 RPM 2.5-inch hard drive, 4-in-1 media card reader, eSATA port, Gigabit Ethernet and integrated 802.11n connectivity. The unit can be installed flat on a surface, on its stand or on the back of the display using VESA mounting holes.

Unfortunately, the company hasn't yet released any details regarding the pricing and availability of the new Zotac MAG nettop.
