Zotac released quite a number of small form factor systems and Barebone PCs, so it is not really surprising to hear that the company updated its product line, with two members this time.

It seems that releasing a bunch of new mini-ITX motherboards based on a combination of Atom and ION is not all that Zotac has been up to.

While the ION-ITX R, S and T Series of ION-ITX models came out not too long ago, they have now been followed by actual systems.

Basically, the company put together two so-called configurations, one of them a mini PC and the other a barebone.

They are dubbed ZBox ID41 Plus mini PC and ZBox ID41 Barebone, respectively, and use Intel's Pine Trail platform, as well as NVIDIA's ION graphics.

The CPU in question is the Atom D525, a dual-core model whose clock frequency is of 1.8 GHz, while the ION GPU has 512 MB of dedicated memory.

The central chip also has full support for DDR3 memory but only the ZBox ID41 Plus has 2 GB of RAM pre-installed.

Meanwhile, a SATA 3.0 Gbps port allows one to add a solid state drive (SSD) or a hard disk drive (ZBox ID41 Plus has a HDD of 250 GB).

What's more, Zotac threw in a 6-in-1 card reader, 7.1 channel audio, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and two SuperSpeed Usb 3.0 ports, plus D-Sub, DVI and HDMI.

“External expansion is vital with mini-PCs. By adding SuperSpeed USB 3.0 technology to our award-winning ZBOX mini-PCs, we are able to offer external connectivity capable of speeds up to 5.0 Gb/s,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director.

Unfortunately, while the official announcement did detail the devices more or less in full, it failed to provide pricing details. Hopefully, online listings won't take too long to show up.
