Zotac may have recently unleashed the H55U3, a mini-ITX motherboard with support for USB 3.0, but the company is not yet done with its string of miniature releases, as is made obvious by the fact it just unveiled the H55-ITX, another mini-ITX board, this time based on the design of the H55ITX-A-E and suited for small form factor gaming systems, among other things.

The H55-ITX WiFi is, obviously, powered by the Intel H55 chipset, which means it has support for LGA 1156 central processing units.

Being able to support such CPUs already implies a fairly decent maximum performance level, and Zotac made sure to provide matching memory, expansion, connectivity and I/O capabilities.

One thing of note about the newcomer is that it boasts not just one, but two DDR3-1333 memory slots, which means that end-users will be able to back their chip up with a hefty memory capacity, should they decide upon this purchase.

Other noteworthy elements are the PCI Express x16 slot, which can accommodate even the latest graphics adapters, and the no less than six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, allowing for an equally impressive HDD/SSD storage and installation of optical drives.

"We see a trend where gamers are moving towards small form factor systems but want high-end CPUs and graphics cards,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, Zotac International.

With the updated Zotac H55-ITX WiFi (H55ITX-C-E, gamers can build a complete small form factor system with a high-end Intel Core i7 800 series processor and a Zotac GeForce GTX 400-series graphics card," Berger added.

Zotac's H555ITX-C-E, as it is called, features Gigabit Ethernet, built-in 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, eSATA, 7.1 channel audio, DVI and HDMI outputs and, quite importantly, a pair of SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports. It is already selling in Chine, for what can be seen as the equivalent of roughly $118.
