A possible “Zoolander” sequel has been in the works since 2008, but the stars never aligned for it to happen until now. As of late last year, various major trade publications were saying that an official announcement of some sort would come soon, and that the much-anticipated sequel would finally arrive on big screens around the world.
It’s finally time: Paramount Pictures has confirmed that “Zoolander 2” will be out in theaters on February 12, 2016, bringing back the hilarious duo Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson as Derek Zoolender and Hansel McDonald.
Speaking of this highly fashionable pair, they just crashed the Valentino show at Paris Fashion Week minutes ago. Below, you will find a Vine and a Facebook video of their fierce struts, but also photos and Paramount’s confirmation on Twitter.
The studio would not say, however, if their appearance was meant as part of the announcement or if it would get to be included in the film as well.
Paris Fashion Week is a high-brow affair, so the surprise was even bigger because of it. However, it’s not unheard of for a movie studio to pull all strings to make this type of unexpected announcement possible: years ago, while he was still shooting for “Bruno,” Sacha Baron-Cohen crashed the Milan Fashion Week during a show and didn’t stop until bodyguards kicked him out of the venue.
But Zoolander and Hansel are way cooler than to cause a ruckus, so they just blended in with the models.
