Staff at Fort Wayne Children's Zoo in Indiana, US are pleased to announce that the facility is now home to a pair of baby black-and-white colobus monkeys.

Talking to the press, keepers at the zoo explained that the baby monkeys were born back in January, and that they arrived within two days of one another.

Although caretakers knew that the females that delivered these two black-and-white colobus monkeys were pregnant, it would appear that nobody expected them to give birth almost at the same time.

“We were aware that both of the adult females were pregnant, but based on their size we anticipated that one mother would deliver a bit later than the other,” zoo employee Amber Eagleson told the press.

“We never expected two infants at the same time!” the African Journey Area Manager went on to say.

According to Zoo Borns, one of the baby monkeys is a male, and its name is Obi, which translates as “heart.” The other is a female, and caretakers have decided to name it Mchumba, which means “sweetheart”

Although they were born to two different mothers, the baby monkeys are nonetheless related. Thus, they have the same father. This means that that they are siblings.
