Some days ago, a female giraffe living at the Knuthenborg Park in Denmark went through 5 very unpleasant hours of labor.

In the end, she gave birth to the adorable baby giraffe pictured above, so there is no denying that is was all totally worth it.

Zoo keepers admit that, at one point, they feared that they might have to intervene and help Dora deliver her calf.

Still, the mother giraffe eventually proved that she was able to handle things all by herself, Zoo Borns reports.

The baby giraffe was nearly 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall at the time she arrived into this world.

Her parents are about three times taller than she is, so she's got a lot of growing to do over the following months if she is to make her family proud.

Zoo staff have decided to name her Damisi.
