The cat had been missing for two years, its owner was very glad to be reunited with it

I can honestly say that, although I've had my fair share of animal rescue stories since the beginning of this year, the news that one zombie recently rescued a long-lost cat named Disaster and returned it to its owner pretty much trumps everything else I've thus far had the chance to write about.

Here is how this peculiar animal rescue episode event went down.

22-year-old Jeremy Zelkowitz, who works as a zombie, was just minding his own business (i.e. wearing a zombie costume and scaring people passing by Times Scare, a house of horrors located near Times Square in Manhattan) when he noticed a cat trying to navigate the city's traffic.

Realizing that the cat had high chances of getting hit by a car, Jeremy darted after it and managed to catch it.

He later took it to BluePearl veterinarian clinic, where it was discovered that the feline had a microchip implanted in its body.

This made it possible for the veterinarians to contact that cat's owner, and inform him that his pet was now under their care.

Huffington Post reports that the cat belongs to NYPD cop Jimmy Helliesen, and that it had been missing for almost two years.

Now that Disaster has been reunited with its owner, one can only hope that it will be a while before it decides to once again go about exploring the city for a rather lengthy period.
