14 DAY TRIAL // Developer Rebellion has announced that Sniper Elite: Zombie Army Trilogy will make its debut on new-gen consoles and PC on March 6.
The game is a tactical third-person shooter, a spin-off of the Sniper Elite franchise, where the usual enemies, Nazi soldiers, are replaced by zombies, following the popular alternate reality mythos of Hitler dabbling in the occult arts.
Unfortunately, there are no dinosaurs, but there’s plenty of action, as the Zombie Army Trilogy is less focused on stealth and careful planning, and more on shooting up legions of undead soldiers.
Granted, zombies are also an instant turn-off for fans of the more tame historical setting that the sniping simulation series takes places in, World War 2, but it seems that the series has been lucrative enough to warrant the effort.
The pack includes remastered versions of the original Zombie Nazy Army and its sequel, as well as a brand new entry in the series, and marks its debut on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 computer entertainment systems.
The only thing missing: dinosaurs
Zombie Hitler alone should be exciting enough to warrant a purchase, but the game also comes with support for up to eight players in cooperative multiplayer, and with four new female characters to choose from. There will also be a horde mode, where players will have to give their best in order to survive the unending onslaught of occult enemies.
Zombie Army Trilogy will be launched on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and Steam on March 6. There is no word on whether Zombie Nazy Army 3 will ever be released as a standalone product, suggesting that the bundle will be the only way to get it.
However, publisher 505 Games has announced that Zombie Army Trilogy will be offered at a discount for owners of past games. Those who own both installments will be able to get the complete pack at 60 percent off its regular price, and those who own either of them will get a 30 percent discount.
