ZingMagic, the developers of classic board and puzzle games for all mobile phone operating systems, have launched a new range of their titles, which now include support for S60 5th edition devices such as Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. All the new games come with redesigned user interfaces, as well as improved AI.

The list of new titles includes Backgammon Pro II, Checkers Pro II, Chess Pro II, Chinese Chess Pro II, Four In A Line Pro II, Gomoku Pro II, and Reversi Pro II. At the same time, an update for Zingles II is also present, now with support for '4x4', 'thru 16x16', 'Jigsaw', 'Killer Sudokus', as well as a variety of 'solving aids, helper features'.

The Backgammon Pro II is reported to look quite well on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handset. The phone would display the main playing screen in landscape mode, leaving a lot of space for finger selection pieces, and it seems to go along pretty well with the touchscreen.

On the right side of the screen there is a toolbar that includes Undo, Help, Resign, as well as options to toggle board and piece styles and colors. To make moves, users will only have to tap the pieces they would like to move, as well as the dice to apply. Moreover, the game comes with different difficulty levels, ranging from Beginner to Expert.

What’s interesting about the ZingMagic titles is the fact that one can have multiple concurrent games. This option can prove quite useful to users who want to try out different strategies. In addition, one is able to let another person play on the phone even if a longer game has been started already.

As many of you might already know, Backgammon Pro II also allows users to play against other players via Bluetooth or SMS text messages. The game also offers hints for the moves, support for alternate boards and pieces, optional play with doubling dice, as well as support for different languages.
