Zi Corporation has announced the deployment by T-Mobile of its revolutionary mobile search and discovery engine Qix.

The mobile search engine provides a quick and easy method for accessing a phone's full set of features, directly from the idle/dialing screen and users can access contacts, numbers or applications without wasting time to look for them, or having to remember where they are.

T-Mobile is only offering Zi Corporation's Qix in the UK for now, but T-Mobile's global agreement with Zi provides for additional rollouts in other countries and the two companies have been working to create a customized Qix experience by including QixLinks (content links), which allow T-Mobile users to access their favorite content on T-Zones quicker than before.

Qix will initially be available on 25,000 Nokia N70 mobile phones, but will also be available on other phone models on T-Mobile in 2007.

Matthew Dove, T-Mobile UK's Head of Internet & Email Products, said, "T-Mobile is the only network to offer this innovative product to the UK consumer market. Having a tool that will enable users to make the most of their phones will certainly enhance the user experience and the service to our customers."

Milos Djokovic, Zi Corporation's President and CEO, added, "This is the first major rollout of Qix in the marketplace and it validates our global deployment strategy through an industry leader. We are delighted to be working with T-Mobile to support the needs of its customer base."

T-Mobile's Qix-enabled mobile phones will be available through the carrier's retail stores as well as online at www.t-mobile.co.uk starting December 2006.
