A stylish Pocket PC

Switzerland's Zenum has been 'threatening' users with releasing the Opus Operis for quite a while now, and the main reason why some customers are still looking forward to seeing this one live is that it's one of the best looking Pocket PCs out there.

After patiently waiting for an official announcement, Zenum have now posted on their website that their handheld is scheduled for a spring 2007 launch.

The Opus Operis was designed by Jaren Goh, the same person that designed Sony Ericsson's Black Diamond phone coming with a price tag of $300,000.

It comes with lots of nice features, including a 2.5 inch screen with a QVGA resolution, a 2 megapixel camera and WiFi. What's less convenient is that it's said to run Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC Edition, and like in the case of other new devices waiting to be released, Windows Mobile 6 was expected to be included.

However, there is a possibility that until the release, the Opus Operis will be upgraded to the Windows Mobile 6 OS. The handheld comes with support for 900/1800/1900 MHZ GSM, therefor no GSM 850 or EDGE and packs 128MB ROM, 64MB RAM, a QWERTY keyboard to make it a very convenient messaging device as well as a productivity tool for document editing, Bluetooth for connectivity with A2DP profile and a MicroSD card slot enabling the user to store all the files that didn't quite fit in the internal memory, on a memory card.

The main advantage of the handheld is the stylish design it sports, pointing out that the days when a Pocket PC had to be bulky and down right ugly to actually include nice features, are over. Having said that, the only thing left to do is keep on waiting to see the Opus Operis released.
