14 DAY TRIAL // After revealing details about the Daggerfall Covenant earlier during the week, the development team working on The Elder Scrolls Online has now offered some information on another factions that will be featured in the MMO, the Aldmeri Dominion.
The faction will be represented by the eagle and the ouroboros and will initially control Valenwood, the Summerset Isles and Elsweyr, with the core armies formed from Altmer, Bosmer and Khajit.
Matt Firor, the game director working on The Elder Scrolls Online at ZeniMax Online, says, “The name says it all. The Aldmeri Dominion wants to dominate the world. They plan on taking over the world. Submit or die.”
He added, “The Aldmeri Dominion is like, ‘we’re going to kill everyone that isn’t us. You people are going to help us or else’.”
Valenwood is in the south of Tamriel and is dominated by swampland and rain forest, with the inhabitants living in giant trees that actually move across the landscape.
Falinesti is the capital and it seems that one initial mystery will be the reason why it stopped walking south during winter.
The Summerset Isles and in the southwest of the continent and The Elder Scrolls Online will be the first game to explore them in detail while Elsweyr is also filled with jungles, but also dry plains and badlands, with vast Moon Sugar plantations and a lot of Skooma distilleries.
The Aldmeri Dominion will recruit Altmer, High Elves with a lot of intelligence and magical abilities who lead the faction, but also the agile and quick Altmer, who are able to move easily across forests and specialize in thievery and archery.
The Khajit are cat-like and stealthy and they make solid front line warriors and good rogues for those less inclined to take the enemy on from the front.
The Elder Scrolls Online is expected to arrive on the PC during 2013.
