Zeiss is a highly regarded optics manufacturer among DSLR and interchangeable lens camera users, thanks to their outstanding performance and excellent build quality.

As you probably know, Zeiss is currently manufacturing the Touit lens series especially for Fujifilm X-mount and Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras and, this year, at Photokina, the company plans to present 5 more manual FE lenses that will probably come with the same high-quality optical construction.

Spotted at CES 2014, the upcoming Zeiss Touit 50mm f/2.8 is planned to hit market shelves on February 27 but, until now, no information has been disclosed about its price. If you own a Sony or Fujifilm interchangeable lens camera and want to pre-order the new Zeiss Touit 50mm f/2.8, BHphoto has listed the lens on its online store at a price of $999 / €732.

The new Zeiss optic comes with a “floating element” design and has a 35mm equivalent focal length of 75mm. The lens elements come with Carl Zeiss T* Anti-Reflective coating, giving increased sharpness, contrast, and enhanced chromatic aberrations control.
