Rumor had it that the first trailer or teaser trailer for Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” the first Justice League movie, would be out on May 15, attached to another major Warner Bros. release, “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

Snyder says that it will actually be out sooner than that - and he even has the first footage from the film to offer fans as incentive to head out to IMAX on April 20, when the full teaser trailer debuts.

The director has been doing the most promo work / teasing for this film on social media, so it’s not really a big surprise that this is where he also introduced the first teaser. You can find it embedded below.

True to the very definition of a “teaser,” it doesn’t really show much, but it does include lingering looks on Superman and Batman’s new suits, as well as the promise that a longer video will drop in IMAX in only 4 days’ time.

In other words, this is a teaser for the teaser for the trailer for the film. You can appreciate the hype around a movie based on whether it has one of these.

“Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, and will be out in March 2016. The plot is unknown right now, but as the title suggests, the two beloved superheroes will be going at it as rivals.

This will be the first time that Batman and Superman share the big screen together.
