14 DAY TRIAL // Zac Efron has not been having a good year: though he’s still working hard doing what he loves most, movies, he’s dealt with some serious issues, including a severe cocaine addiction for which he sought help in rehab. This time, Zac has a different kind of problem, finding himself home-bound after breaking his jaw.
The incident occurred at his home in Los Angeles, when he slipped on a small puddle of water he did not notice and fell face-first on the stairs, E! News reports, adding that his mouth is now “wired shut” to allow for recovery.
“He not only broke his jaw when he fell, but he also suffered a gash that required stitches,” the celebrity publication adds. However, he is “expected to make a full recovery.”
On the downside, because of the injury and because he needs time to recuperate, Zac won’t be doing any kind of promotion for his latest movie, the R-rated comedy “That Awkward Moment,” also starring Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller.
“That Awkward Moment” sees Zac star as a young man who, together with his two best buds, vouches to stay single for as long as the other two are also single. Little do they imagine that love just has a way of “happening” so, when it does, all three try to hide it from the others by still pretending to be single, as per their previous manly pact.
The film is scheduled for release for January, which is still considered graveyard box office, save for very few exceptions. In other words, to get people to want to see it, Zac would have had to start promoting it really soon – but he won’t now, because he’s home-bound after the freak accident.
With E! saying that he’ll be making a full recovery, we’re to imagine Zac’s pretty face won’t be showing any signs of the injury sustained.
