Apparently, the new mobile phone is expected to arrive on shelves in the country as soon as next month, and will feature the aforementioned price tag when purchased contract free.

The guys over at gpsandco.com (in French) are those to break the news, after having the chance to play around with the device for a little bit.

Although cheap, the handset does feature a series of high-end features, including the Qualcomm MSM7227 application processor, clocked in at 800 Mhz and complemented by an Adreno 200 GPU.

The smartphone also comes with 512MB of RAM, as well as with 512MB of ROM, and 200MB of memory for installing applications, though there is also a microSD memory card slot included into the mix, for additional storage space.

The specifications list of the new mobile phone also includes a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, capable of delivering an 800x480 pixels (WVGA) resolution.

Moreover, the handset sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash, auto focus and support for video recording, though no HD capabilities were included with it.

The ZTE Skate also features a 1350 mAh battery inside, as well as support for 3G networks, along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity capabilities.

Other specs of this cheap device would include GPS with A-GPS support, along with 3.5mm headphone jack, or a microUSB v2.0.

We should also note that the mobile phone comes with a series of multimedia capabilities too, including web browsing on Adobe Flash Player-powered sites, or support for MP4 / H.264 / H.263, or MP3 / WAV / eAAC+ file formats.

The ZTE Skate was announced with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board, and with support for Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, and other Google Mobile services, as well as for applications distributed through the Android Market.
