Today, Chinese mobile phone maker ZTE has finally decided to make official one handset that has been long rumored to arrive on shelves this year, namely the ZTE Nubia Z7.

Just as previous reports on the matter suggested, the new device is a high-end smartphone, which should be able to easily compete against handsets such as Samsung Galaxy S5, LG G3, and HTC One M8, at least on the company’s homeland market.

The mobile phone was announced with top-of-the-line hardware specifications inside, and will certainly manage to appeal a lot to enthusiasts.

ZTE has unveiled plans to make the new device available for purchase in China with a price tag of 3,456 Yuan ($557/€410) attached to it, which sounds great for a high-end smartphone, that’s for sure.

The one thing that ZTE hasn’t confirmed as of now is whether we might see the ZTE Nubia Z7 released internationally or only in China. Many of the company’s devices end up being available only on this market, and the new phone could suffer a similar fate.

One way or the other, it’s clear that ZTE is determined to prove that it can deliver leading devices, and that it is one of the top smartphone makers out there, at least this is what the new Nubia Z7 shows.

The phone was announced with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) resolution, which would make it as large as the LG G3, GforGames notes.

Moreover, ZTE has unveiled the new device with a quad-core Snapdragon 801 8974AC processor inside (the same CPU that Galaxy S5 sports), as well as with 3GB of RAM, and with 32GB of internal memory.

On the back, the new mobile phone features a 13-megapixel camera with BSI sensor, dual LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, blue glass filter, and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), which should be able to record videos at least in full HD resolution.

Moreover, ZTE has packed the Nubia Z7 with a 5-megapixel front camera, which should ensure great video calling capabilities while on the go.

The handset comes to the market with support for 4G LTE networks, as well as with the usual set of connectivity capabilities. It includes dual-SIM functionality too, along with the Nubia UI 2.0 loaded on top (it is based on Android).

According to ZTE, the new device will sport a series of other great features as well, among which an AK4961 chip (32-bit advanced audio CODEC with DSP), as well as a so-called RAM refresh technology, which should ensure efficient battery usage.
