Chinese handset maker ZTE announced a few Nubia smartphones earlier this month, but the devices have only been introduced in China.

However, beginning this week, it looks like customers in India will be able to take at least one of the new Nubia smartphones for a spin.

ZTE confirmed recently that it would introduce its Nubia brand in India on May 19. The company also announced that it had teamed up with Amazon India to offer its smartphones to customers in this country.

The Nubia series won't be available for purchase at other retailers in India except for Amazon, which already opened a dedicated webpage where customers will be able to pre-order ZTE smartphones.

Unfortunately, ZTE did not mention which Nubia smartphones it will launch this week, so it could be either of these three: Z9 mini, Z9 and Z9 Max.

The Nubia Z9 mini might be the first to arrive

Since India is still an emerging market where consumers treasure price over high-end specs, we expect ZTE to introduce the Nubia Z9 mini first rather than the other two which pack much better specs.

ZTE Nubia Z9 mini is already available for purchase in China and ships with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system and Nubia UI 2.8 on top.

The smartphone sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. It also packs 16-megapixel photo snapper on the back, along with a secondary 8-megapixel camera in the front.

The Nubia Z9 mini is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. There are 16GB of storage inside, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

It's also worth mentioning that ZTE Nubia Z9 mini offers dual-SIM support, along 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, GPS with AGPS and FM Radio. The phone is powered by a non-removable 2,900 mAh battery.
