A brush fire has prompted evacuations and scorched 534 acres (216 hectares) in San Bernardino County, California throughout the weekend, reports say.

According to WABC-TV, the fire was 20 percent contained as of yesterday. The photo posted above gives an idea of how the area was affected by the massive fire.

Flames broke out near Highway 38, in the area between Mentone and Yucaipa. The flames are headed south, officials say and no intensive damage to Yucaipa has been reported.

Residents have been allowed to return to their homes in the small town, as the blaze changes its direction.

The attic of a local house has incurred structural damage, but the rest of the residence remains intact. Reps for the local Fire department have stated that the fire will be under control today.
