A common glitch

The Rock Band forums are under a lot of scrutiny these days because of a pretty serious glitch that affects players who purchased the Xbox 360 version of the popular Rock Band 2 music game, and which appears with the online bands that play in tour mode. In a nutshell, after quite a lengthy progress made in the game, you find that your band and character have disappeared. The former still appears as online but when you attempt to access it, a message saying that the band is looking for a leader appears and the problem can't be solved.

The issue is very annoying because it appears after the band makes considerable progress in tour mode, and leaves the players with no other choice than to start over. However, although the band and character are deleted, the unlocked songs are still available for play.

This glitch is becoming more and more common as a growing number of people are reporting it on the official Rock Band forums. As of yet, no official response has been issued by the game developer, Harmonix, but it's really safe to say that with a glitch so serious, the team is doing the best it can.

For those of you who don't know, Rock Band is the first music game that brought other instruments to the gaming scene, because until then, only the guitar could be played, in Activision's Guitar Hero. Alongside this very popular instrument, Rock Band brought drums and vocals, thus exploiting a new segment of customers, meaning those who weren't into guitars.

The sequel of the game, Rock Band 2, appeared last month and has had some very good sales. But the real challenge will be this holiday season when Activision will launch Guitar Hero: World Tour, where gamers will also have the chance to play the guitar, drums or vocals.

Let's just hope that this glitch will be solved soon because it might seriously ruin sales for the popular game.
