Video stats provided by YouTube

YouTube has millions of users every day and because it is so popular, most video uploaders want to know more details about their clips, such as the nicknames of the viewers, their location or the way they reach the videos. Because of that, a solution similar to Google Analytics, but focused on the clips posted on YouTube, would be welcomed.

Google knew this and today rolled out YouTube Insight, "a free tool that enables anyone with a YouTube account to view detailed statistics about the videos that they upload to the site," as the YouTube team wrote on their official blog.

The information provided by this new function is pretty useful, especially if you're a YouTube partner and you want to attract more viewers and become more popular on the video sharing service.

YouTube Insight helps you analyze the views and the popularity of the clips from the moment you've uploaded them to a certain date, allowing you to select a single country, region or period. Moreover, the YouTube team plans to bring even more stats to the function, so keep an eye on the news to find out when they're rolled out.

"We'll be making new features and additional information available fairly quickly -- like a specific breakdown of how viewers discovered the video," the YouTube Team mentioned in the blog post.

In order to access YouTube Insight, you have to log in into your YouTube account, click on My Account, go to Videos / Favorites / Playlists and select Manage my Videos. Wait a second and two graphs should appear under the name of the clip.

YouTube is quite a popular service these days, being owned by Google, the Mountain View company acquiring the video sharing website in October 2006, when it paid no less than $1.65 billion for it.
