The Senpai reported that there are currently only a few videos which have this feature, meaning that YouTube is still in the early phases of testing it, but if things go right, and there is no reason why they shouldn't, then we just might be able to experience ultra-high-definition in a short time and for more videos online.
Is the upgrade a good choice?
However, not everyone can rejoice at the news. The bad thing is that not just any regular camera can record at 60 frames per second, and not all devices can display the videos perfectly. So you might be able to select the 4k option, but the video will not display in very good quality, or it might play intermittently, showing images instead.
YouTube announced that they were working on introducing this enhancement back in 2010, at the VidCon, stating that they wanted videos on their website to be available in the highest quality possible.
Moreover, you should know that in order to watch videos in 4k, you would need an ultra-fast Internet connection as well, and since most Internet connections barely allow you to watch video in 1080 HD, it might be a little difficult to actually enjoy this new enhancement.
According to The Senpai, you would need a screen capable of displaying at least 3840×2160 to be able to fully enjoy the videos; otherwise, the videos might play even worse or at all. Also it is recommended to use browsers such as Chrome or Safari, as others are more likely to crash.
With competition gagging up on YouTube, the website is expected to bring about some changes and release some new features for its users, and the quality of the videos is a good place to start from.
Meanwhile, if you have fast Internet speed and a 3840x2160 resolution on your device, you should check out some of the videos which are currently available in 4k.
