Summer's gone, at least in the northern hemisphere, but that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy a getaway to your favorite vacation spot, or some exotic location you've never been to, even if it's not entirely 'real.' YouTube has now put together the Vacationer channel to showcase some of the more interesting travel-related clips from its partners.

"There’s no shortage of videos on YouTube to inspire travel plans, and our new program Vacationer Presented by NCL brings the best of our partners’ travel content into a single destination," YouTube's Mark Day wrote.

"Whether you’re seriously planning the trip of a lifetime, or just need an excuse to do a little online escapism, Vacationer is packed with reports from authorities in the space, channels like Lonely Planet, National Geographic and the Travel Channel," he announced.

"After all, you don’t need to be following in Anthony Bourdain’s footsteps to enjoy his take on authentic eats in some of the world’s most memorable destinations," he added.

There are plenty of videos to choose from, presented in a Cover Flow style. You can also choose videos from a specific region like Caribbean, Europe and so on.

But if you get bored just flipping through the videos of exotic locations, you can also create your own experience on the YouTube page. With two million combinations of video snippets to choose from, it's safe to say that you can create a rather unique experience.

YouTube has been trying hard to drum up revenue and it tapping into all possible streams. Branded channels like this one sponsored by Norwegian Cruise Line are a good way of generating revenue while also coming up with something that may be fun and useful for the viewers. You can expect initiatives like this to be more common in time.
