Just 'YouTube' it!

Google is surely one of the best known brands in the entire world and this was proved by numerous researches concerning the search engine. That's why 'Google', the noun, slowly turned into a verb as numerous persons were referring to 'google' as if it were a habitual action that you do every day. For example, I heard a lot of people saying that "I googled him to find out the information" or "Just Google it to find out the info". As you can see, the term 'google' is usually associated to verbs and actions such as "find" or "search".

Similarly, Haochi from Googlified today reports that Urban Dictionary is now defining YouTube as a verb, as many of the Internet users are encouraging others to "YouTube it" in order to view a certain clip.

"YouTube - verb: when one looks for a particular kind of video on the website - If your looking for some awesome racing clips, just youtube it," Urban Dictionary defines the YouTube term.

Since YouTube was acquired by the Mountain View company in October 2006 for $1.65 billion, the online video sharing platform grew up a lot and attracted a huge number of consumers. What's most interesting is that YouTube evolved so much that it managed to become a common word even in dictionaries, following its parent Google which is already known in the entire world.

Now, the search giant seems to be more and more focused on the video sharing platform so we should expect some new changes and improvements very soon. Moreover, none of the websites which were released to represent the revolutionary YouTube-killer managed to challenge Google's video service and compete with it. Look at Sony, for example, which recently released eyeVio, a YouTube-like product, which however, is currently available only to Japanese users.
