The online video sharing service YouTube received a new brand function included in the TestTube labs that allows you to edit your clips straight from a web-based interface. The advantage? No complex application and advanced knowledge required, as most of the functions have very intuitive names. Adobe Remixer is a flash-based tool that enables you to insert graphics and captions, borders, transitions and effects and even your favorite music. Obviously, the feature can be used for free but please keep in mind that it is only a beta so it might be quite buggy.

"Have you been wishing for an easy way to edit your videos without buying extra software or bugging your video-savvy friends to do it for you? The long awaited Adobe Remixer is finally live!," the YouTube team said today. "Remixer allows you to edit your videos with text, audio, graphics, overlays, effects, and transitions?right here on YouTube (no fancy equipment required). Check out the new YouTube Remixer, available on TestTube, and you'll be an expert in no time."

YouTube's TestTube is similar to Google's Labs because it is a testing platform that presents the latest projects built at the Googleplex before they are released or implemented into the final product. Some time ago, TestTube rolled out AudioSwap, a function that allows you to manipulate the soundtrack of the uploaded clips. Now, the online video sharing service presents a video editing tool that helps you work with the elements of a clip.

YouTube was acquired by the parent company Google in October 2006 when the search giant paid no less than $1.6 billion. Since the acquisition, numerous companies sent Google to the judge because they considered that the Mountain View firm uploaded their videos without authorization and infringed their copyright. The latest and best known lawsuit was filed by Viacom, the owner of MTV and Comedy Central that also required $1 billion in damages.
