In true Google fashion, the redesigned YouTube has been getting changes and updates ever since it launched as the team continues to tweak and add new features.

The latest addition is a an improved "Add" button which now does more than just add videos to quick playlists.

The new button, spotted by Google Operating System, the unofficial blog, makes it easy to create new playlists or add videos to existing ones.

Previously, the "plus" button that appeared on video thumbnails on various sections of the site would enable users to add a video to the quick playlist bar, also introduced in the last few months.

Now, you also get the option of adding it to your Favorites, to the Queue of course, to your existing saved playlists or to a newly created one. This makes it a lot easier to manage videos to view at a later time.

YouTube also changed the way the "Save To" button works. The button is now named "Add to." As the name implies, the functionality is the same as the new "plus sign" button.

By default, the button adds a video to the queue. However, there is also a drop-down menu with more options, the same as for the "plus" button, add to playlists, favorites and so on.

The new functionality should make it easier to create playlists and queues, in theory, driving video consumption up, something that YouTube is striving for with all the design changes.

The Listandplay website, which we showcased earlier, takes this to the extreme. At its core, the site enables users to create sharable playlists as fast as they can type.

Inspired by Google Instant, the site loads videos and search results as you are typing. This way you can go through a number of queries relatively fast, adding the videos you want to your playlist.
