YouTube, the leader of the online video sharing market, is again threatened by a new service coming straight from Hong Kong. Megavideo is the video platform built by the creators of Megaupload and is especially meant to beat YouTube. In fact, the motto of the new service is "Megavideo Beats YouTube". What's most interesting about this service is that you can easily earn money using AdBrite, an advertising platform that places adverts straight into the videos. Also, the uploader of the clip is able to choose his video starting position, meaning that any viewer will see the movie from a certain playback position.

"Megavideo is aiming to replace YouTube as the leader in online video. Megavideo was built by the same people who brought you Megaupload.com. We allow our partners and users to keep 100% of all advertising earnings. Your content, your money. We just charge a little fee for bandwidth and coffee," it is mentioned in the description of the service.

In a video published on the main page of Megavideo, the creators of the service mention the top 10 reasons for using their product instead of the famous YouTube. Among the most important, we can mention the possibility to download the original files as well the capability to use Megavideo in any of its 20 languages. Also, keep in mind that "Megavideo loves you more than YouTube", as TechCrunch notes as the last reason to visit the recently released video service.

The interesting fact comes from the premium version of the service that allows the interested consumers who pay $10 per month to upload videos of up to 5GB. As you know, Google's YouTube might also work on a premium flavor but there is no official confirmation yet. However, Megavideo is another obvious competitor for YouTube but only time will prove us if it's able to face the competition.
