The nova is slowly fading away and will become too dim for the naked eye soon

There's always something to look at in the night sky, if you know where and when to look and have proper equipment.

Still, sitting in your backyard with your telescope or even going to the top of some dark hill somewhere, you'll only see things that others have looked at and discovered before and you'll still be able to see them next month and the month after that.

But this week, stargazers are in for a treat as they'll be able to watch, for a limited time, a rather rare event, a nova explosion.

The event, now designated Nova Delphini 2013, started a few days ago and will fade away in a few more days.

You can see it for yourself with the naked eye, as long as you're away from bright cities, next [PDF] to the constellation Saggita, The Arrow.
