Jeremy Simon's Cyborg Beast strikes again, and it's just as cool as ever

The Cyborg Beast is rapidly becoming a staple of the 3D printed prosthetic industry, as the product has made the news two times in the same number of days. And it's getting more accessible and convenient every time.

Invented by Jeremy Simon, the Cyborg Beast is a 3D printed prosthetic hand that works better and more easily than a standard equivalent, which happens to sell for $40,000 / €28,972.

The prosthetic hand has so far changed the life of Jose Delgado Jr. and sparked interest in 3D printing for a 10-year-old girl and her classmates.

In fact, said 10-year-old, Sierra, managed to assemble the hand on her own (albeit with input from Simon via Skype) and will present it at a science fair.

The key here is that the hand costs a pittance to make but is a lot better than something that costs a whole fortune.

With such a point in its favor, it's no wonder that Cyborg Beast, and her creator are getting so many accolades so quickly.

Unfortunately, there's a small problem: very few people own a 3D printer, and 3D printing services/stores are very few and far between.

Not exactly something you'd want to have to say to any of those thousands (millions even) of people in the world who could greatly benefit from a prosthetic hand like this.

Besides, while it's easy enough to assemble the hand, 3D printing the parts is time-consuming and not quite as easy as it sounds.

Fortunately, Jeremy Simon hasn't washed his hands of the whole matter. In fact, he seems quite intent on further promoting and ensuring access to it.

So he's now offering the fully 3D printed kits, as well as the other parts needed to put the hand together. You can order it (he calls it the Cyborg Beast now) via his website.

And get this: you'll be saving money by ordering it this way, because the kit is priced at $45 / €33, not $50 / €36. Moreover, if you're part of the e-NABLE organization (with whom both Jeremy Simon and Sierra have ties), you only need to pay $35 / €25.7. You can go here to place an order.

And if shipping costs end up being added (normal, especially if you're not from the US), keep in mind that the Cyborg Beast originally cost $120 / €88 because the cheapest parts took some digging, and buying some of the components individually cost more than if they were acquired in bulk.
