Although the 16GB WiFi tablet is currently out of stock, technically you can now secure your own iPad for the attractive price of $299. Apple has dropped prices on all iPad refurbs recently, and the base configuration is now $200 cheaper compared to its entry price in 2010.

Yesterday, we reported that Apple’s Special Deals section was offering up iPads that were $30 cheaper than before, in addition to the $100 discount for their ‘refurbished’ status.

Those offers are still available. You can buy a Refurbished iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G 16GB (first generation) for $399.00 now. Previously, customers could only secure a 16GB WiFi-only model for that price.

In this respect, Apple has also dropped the price for the Refurbished iPad with Wi-Fi 32GB (first generation), which goes for the same $399.00 price.

Apple will undoubtedly re-stock the $299 WiFi 16GB iPad but, until then, we thought it was worth pointing it out to you.

For those waiting to get one, all refurbished iPad models include the same 1-year warranty as a brand new iPad, all manuals and accessories, a new battery and outer shell, and a new white (retail) box.

In the box, customers will find the refurbished iPad, a Dock Connector to USB Cable, the 10W USB Power Adapter, and documentation.

You can keep this here link handy and check from time to time to see when new iPads arrive. We’ll try to beat you to it, though, so be sure to keep an eye on Softpedia from time to time.

Apple Certified Refurbished Products are pre-owned products that undergo Apple's stringent refurbishment process, prior to being offered for sale. They are returned under Apple's Return and Refund Policies.

While only some units are brought back because of technical issues, all of them undergo the company's rigorous quality-refurbishment process.

Service and support include 90 days of telephone support and a one-year warranty. You have the option of purchasing an AppleCare Protection Plan for your refurb, while shipping is free in the US.
