Duke Nukem is certainly back in the media spotlight these days as the Internet has been filled with regrets and sorrow since developer 3D Realms announced that it would close down and take with it the Duke Nukem Forever project, from which we could only see a few screenshots and a video of gameplay.

But this doesn't mean that the Duke Nukem Trilogy is in any danger, as Apogee Software is still developing that title, which promises to bring back the much-loved character. Now though, it seems that fan service is holding the number one spot for the company, as it has just announced that it will take its contest to transform one of Duke's many fans into the man himself, by getting him to promote the game across the United States.

The online audition can be accessed at this address, where those who want to become the famous action hero can upload their own videos of them being the best Duke they can be and try to win over the developers of the game and the creators of the original Duke, who will be part of the jury.

If you manage to be the best Duke, according to the judges, the company alongside Deep Silver will name you the “official” Duke Nukem and will pay you to be the face of the game and interact with other fans across the country.

“We are opening the floodgates on the search for the next live-action Duke Nukem. Before we were reaching out to the fans with a three-city nationwide search, but due to the high demand we have chosen to expand our search to allow every Duke fan a chance to submit their entry,” said Chad McNeil, marketing manager for Deep Silver, Inc. “We want to see your best Duke Nukem, so get ready to [expletive] and chew some bubblegum because this is going to be one of the craziest promotions the videogame industry has seen for a long time!”
