Any more of this and professional music equipment makers will go bankrupt

It wasn't that long ago that Olaf Diegel, of ODD Guitars, released a 3D printed keyboard, but already the man come out with the drums.

Guitars came first, so to speak, and then the Ladybug Keyboard. That makes the Atom 3D Printed Drum Kit the third in the man's collection.

It is based on the Sonor SmartForce drum kit, but has custom drum shells printed on a 3D Systems Pro 230 SLS system.

The drums are totally white, printed at 0.1mm resolution. Technical terms for 3D printing detail, no need to stretch your brain over it too much. Suffice to say, it's a sleek and solid piece of work.

Soon enough, Diegel will have an entire band's worth of instruments, although cymbals probably won't be 3D printed any time soon, not unless metal inks and alloys become easier to mold that way.

Anyway, the new drum kit includes 12-inch, 13-inch and 16-inch toms, a 22-inch bass drum and a 14-inch snare.
