The Yoda that is now a dad is a male giraffe at Paignton Zoo, not the Star Wars character

Yoda is now a father, and word has it that his daughter is nothing short of stunning. Unfortunately for Star Wars fans, the Yoda that got to hang up pink balloons and enjoy a cigar is not the fictional character, but a male giraffe living in captivity at Paignton Zoo in the United Kingdom.

According to Zoo Borns, the baby giraffe was born this past January 25 to mom Sangha. She has not been named yet, but keepers say that they will soon find a suitable moniker for her.

The calf was born during daytime, which caretakers say is rather odd. As zoo employee Beil Bemment told the press, “She was born during the day, which is unusual but not unheard of. Giraffes mostly give birth overnight.”

The baby Rothschild's giraffe already measures about 6 feet (about 1.82 meters) in height, and the people in charge of keeping a close eye on her say that she is healthy and active.

What's more, she has some friends that she can play with: two other giraffe calves named Valentino and Otilie.
