Yes Scotland – the organization representing the parties, individuals and companies that want a “yes” vote in the 2014 Scottish independence referendum – has filed a report with the police after one of its email accounts was allegedly breached by an unauthorized party. According to The Telegraph, law enforcement authorities are investigating the matter.

Yes Scotland determined that its email account was hacked after receiving a media inquiry about a topic from private correspondence.

It’s uncertain what the email contained, but the organization’s representatives believe this is another attempt to damage the campaign.

BT has analyzed the account in question and found that it had been accessed a number of times from an IP address that didn’t have anything to do with Yes Scotland.

So far, no suspects have been named. However, Yes Scotland doesn’t believe this is the work of an ex-employee.
