Some of you might remember Yashi as the original backers up of Windows tablets. Years ago, the company released Windows 7 tablets integrating business applications developed especially for their partners.

Notebook Italia notes, the latest product Yashi has rolled out on the market is the TabletBook Ultra S2 which is a tablet that can be used with a keyboard dock, just like ASUS Transformer Book T100.

In terms of specifications, we have a pretty mid-range tablet coming with an 11.6-inch HD display (1366 x 768 pixel resolution). Yashi offers a choice in terms of processor, including Intel Core i3/i5/i7 (Ivy Bridge) fitted with 4GB of DDR3 memory and 128GB SSD.

Furthermore, the slate has two cameras (2MP on the back and 1.3MP in front), 802.11n Wi-Fi module, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, 2 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, SD card reader, speakers and microphone.

Of course, the default operating system is Windows 8.1. Yashi has bundled the device with a hefty 8000mAh battery, which means users should have plenty of working hours.

While the specification list points towards this being a decent machine, we can’t say the same about the pricing.

Yoshi is charging a hefty €719 / $981 on the 1.7GHz Core i5-3317U variant in Europe, but for the same amount of money you might find something better.
