More and more manufacturers across the globe are launching smaller, sleek slates with appealing designs meant to draw the attention away from offerings such as the iPad mini.

It’s the case of Yashi Mini One, a tablet that features a beautiful compact chassis made of aluminum and magnesium that’s 7.6 mm / 0.2 inches thick and weighs just 335 g / 0.7 lbs, says Notebook Italia.

The Yashi Mini One (complete name YPad Mini One YP785) has a 7.85 IPS display with a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. Under the bonnet lies hidden a quad-core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A7 (we’re not given the specific model) paired with 1GB of RAM. As for internal storage, there’s 16GB (extendable to 32GB) to stock all your data.

Last but not least, customers will find a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front snapper, microUSB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, integrated 3G and a battery of 4000 mAh. The Yashi slate runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the standard OS for mid-range Android models. In Europe, the slate sells for €259 / €356.
