Yamaha's expertise in the field of audio solutions (and motorcycles) is unquestionable, and in order to prove it one more time, the Japanese company came up with a device that will allow users to keep all of their conversations completely private.

There are quite a lot of situations when we'd simply love to have some sort of gadget around that will enable us to talk to someone without feeling that other people are listening-in, and it seems that this is exactly the type of solution Yamaha has come up with.

The VSP-1 can be described as an advanced sound generator, given the fact that its main feature involves creating some pretty loud sounds, meant to prevent eavesdropping, while in the same time allowing people outside its range to have a normal conversation.

The types of sound emitted by the VSP-1 are fairly basic, since we're talking mostly about nature sound, such as water flowing, wind blowing through the trees in a forest, that, however, at 3.2W, are loud enough to distract anyone from trying to listen into a conversation held in a low voice.

The device incorporates a dynamic audio speaker and will occupy quite a bit of space wherever the user might decide to place it, given the fact that it measures 104 x 214 x 104 mm and weighs around 1.2 kilograms.

Although this device might not seem like much (and certainly not really capable of enforcing a certain level of privacy over one's conversation), the truth of the matter is that, according to Yamaha, it's actually pretty effective, managing to boost the level of sound cancellation (well, at least as far as the respective conversation is concerned) up to a whopping 89 percent.

Unfortunately, pricing for the Yamaha VSP-1 device (and subsequently, for your complete privacy) is pretty steep, as the device is set to go on sale starting on April 20 for around 105,000 Japanese Yen (or roughly 1,267 US dollars).
