Yakuza Restoration is coming out in February 22 in Japan, part of the PlayStation 4 launch line-up. The game will also be launched on the PlayStation 3 at the same date.

Sega's sandbox game takes place in a historical feudal Japanese setting, and players will find an experience that comes close to the one the Grand Theft Auto series of games presents.

During an interview with Siliconera, series producer Toshihiro Nagoshi made some interesting reveals regarding the title's launch for both current and next-gen platforms.

"With regards to the differences between the PS3 and PS4 versions, well since the horsepower on the PS4 is roughly ten times of that on the PS3, the graphical output is greatly enhanced on the PS4, and more effects could be rendered, allowing for a better-looking picture.

"And also, this has an effect on the battles in the game as well, which play out with a level of smoothness that is only possible on the PS4," he shared.

For instance, the game will run at 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 4, a feat which is not possible on the PlayStation 3.

"The biggest challenge we had with developing the PS4 version was in trying to incorporate elements that would best utilize the unique features of the platform," Yakuza Restoration director Daisuke Sato stated.

He mentioned that the team worked particularly hard on best showcasing the PlayStation 4's unique features, as the game is part of the console's Japanese launch line-up.

He assured gamers that the development team took extra care to ensure that players would not feel like they were getting an inferior experience on the PlayStation 3, as they would see the improvements made over Yakuza 5.

The developers even included some bonus content that PlayStation 4 players will not have access to. As such, players who have save data from past Yakuza games on their PlayStation 3 consoles will receive a "little bonus" from the team, in-game.
