The Sunnyvale company improved My Yahoo in a move meant to take the homepage closer to Google's Personalized Homepage, recently renamed to iGoogle. My Yahoo is now offering several new features to improve the functionality of the product. The Yahoo personalized homepage is currently available as a beta, offering a fresh new interface bundled with several new tools. According to TechCrunch, My Yahoo received a lot of new goodies such as a calendar module, a My Netflix module and an update for the Yahoo Bookmarks service implemented into the homepage.

"The calendar module has read/write functionality (as it should). My Netflix lets users see what movies have recently been released on DVD, the movies in your queue and movies you have at home. The main addition to the bookmarks module is the ability to add new bookmarks directly from the module," TechCrunch said.

It seems that all the new features will be implemented on Thursday for all the users of the homepage.

As you can see, the battle between Google and Yahoo goes to another level as the two companies are trying to challenge one another with any type of solution. However, Yahoo is recently regarded as the favorite of the fight because the latest studies conducted by research companies revealed that the giant portal's products are more popular than Google's. For example, Yahoo Mail managed to beat Gmail and attracted an impressive number of users, in comparison with the Google mail solution that was bested even by Hotmail.

Today's war involves two of the newest solutions developed by the two companies: iGoogle and My Yahoo. iGoogle, initially known as Google Personalized Homepage, is a similar product that allows users to create their own homepage and add all sort of gadgets such as search engine, clocks and even decoration elements.
