The update is not available in other countries yet

Yahoo has just announced it has updated its Android application with a new look. Sadly, the company seems to be interested only in the US market since it made the new version of the application available only in the United States.

This is the same update Yahoo app got on iPhone back in January. The reason that Android is getting this makeover two months after iOS is likely because Apple's market share in the US is slightly bigger than that of Google's Android.

Nevertheless, according to Yahoo, the latest update should add many interactive features, including photo slideshows, community polls, as well as an image slider that allows users to see photos transform in real-time, in order to make the 12 digital magazines more appealing.

A fresh new style for a revamped app experience

For example, Android users will now be able to swipe through a slideshow on Yahoo Politics featuring images from Iowa as America's heartland approaches election year. You can even vote for your favorite social media platform on Yahoo Tech.

Also, by swiping the image slider from right to left, you can discover amazing transformations of actors and their movie characters.

But these are not the only improvements included in the latest update for Yahoo. Developers also confirmed that they have brought their Yahoo Weather and Yahoo News Digest content to the top of the All Stories and News streams.

This will allow users to keep an eye on multiple subjects by simply swiping through different news domains from the top. Keep in mind though that the latest version of Yahoo is only available in the United States.

So, if you live in the US, you can now download Yahoo for Android via Google Play for free. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
